MBS Management conducted an orientation training on “Standardization” to Members of the MBS Board. The training took place at Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi on 12th October 2017. The objective of the training was to orient the MBS Board on the activities of the MBS in relation to its mandate under the MBS and Metrology Acts. The training covered the activities of the MBS that are undertaken through the following departments:

  1. Standards development
  2. Quality assurance services
  3. Testing services
  4. Metrology services

The training was officially opened by the Chairperson of the MBS Board, Mr Action Amos, who, in his opening remarks informed the Members of the Board that the training was part of the orientation that started with the tour of the testing facilities at the MBS Head Office in Blantyre, and the Mchinji Border office earlier in the year, in order to appreciate the facilities and operations of the MBS. He further indicated that the training was therefore aimed at getting details of the actual activities of the departments of the MBS. He therefore called upon the Members of the Board to take advantage of the training to have some issues they may have on the operations of the MBS clarified by Management.
