Job purpose
To efficiently and effectively implement inspection and sampling activities for imported products

Key duties and responsibilities
The Quality Monitoring Officer shall be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties and responsibilities:

  1. Supervising registration of imports inspection requests;
  2. Conducting industrial quality audits for products certification based on national and international requirements;
  3. Providing technical advice to the Senior Quality Monitoring Officer (Inspection and Sampling) on matters pertaining to inspection of imported products;
  4. Supervising inspection and sampling of imported products;
  5. Supervising proper handling of imports samples;
  6. Supervising tracking of sample results;
  7. Developing laboratory slips;
  8. Conducting industrial audits for product certification based on national and international requirements;
  9. Compiling weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports for inspection and sampling activities;
  10. Conducting quality monitoring market surveys;
  11. Supervising management of records related to import inspection and sampling;
  12. Conducting performance appraisals for import inspection and sampling technicians;
  13. Facilitating proper levying of Cess based on the  Cess Order.  

Minimum qualifications and experience
The applicant must have:

  1. At least Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Sciences;
  2. At least two years’ experience in industrial work in quality related activities.

  3. Be committed and motivated and be able to achieve tasks within required time;
  4. Be able to prioritise important matters and act on them accordingly;
