The Malawi Bureau of Standards Board is pleased to inform the public that, in accordance with Section 24 (1) of the Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) Act, it has appointed Dr Stephen Chalimba as the Director of Metrology Services of the Malawi Bureau of Standards effective 1^st of May, 2025.

Dr. Chalimba, is a seasoned engineering professional specialized in Standardization, Quality Assurance and Metrology (SQAM) at both national and regional levels with 22 years’ experience in standards development and testing. He holds a PhD in Metallurgy (RSA), an MSc in Strategic Management (UK) and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MW).

Before his appointment as Director of Metrology Services, Dr Chalimba served as the Deputy Director of Testing Services (Engineering Technology) and Standards Officer – Engineering and Materials.

The MBS Board congratulates Dr Chalimba on his appointment and welcomes him to MBS Management.
