The MBS technical Committee on Apiculture Products (MBS/TC 70), held a meeting on 5th November 2021 in the MBS Boardroom. The committee discussed the revision of the Malawi standard for honey (MS 366), which was first published in 2010. The standard was tabled for revision so that it could be adopted as a SADC harmonized text. Notable change in the standard was an inclusion of microbiological limits for the product. The standard is now a COMESA/SADC harmonized text and is now at Public Inquiry stage (notification to the WTO as required under the SPS and TBT Agreements) for a period of 60 days.
